How I can help

Planning a funeral service is a daunting task, especially as it typically needs to be organised within a short period of time. The responsibility can feel overwhelming, so this is where I can help you. I will spend as much time with you as you need prior to the service and usually within the comfort of your own home. I will take the time to get to know you and your loved one – listening to your memories, hearing your stories, and understanding what made them special.

I will work alongside you with great care, sensitivity and respect, to create a very personal service which reflects the true character and nature of your loved one. Acknowledging any challenges they may have faced in their lives, but most importantly, celebrating the life they lived, the love they shared, and the legacy they left behind with their family and their friends. The ceremony will be crafted with your beliefs and wishes, along with those of your loved one.

There are no set rules, so the service will be unique to you, your family and your loved one. You can include meaningful readings, favourite songs or hymns, rituals, or personal tributes – whatever feels right for you and your family. I can also provide guidance on how to craft a personal tribute, if desired, that either you can read on the day or I can read on your behalf.

Saying goodbye to someone you love can be overwhelming, painful and deeply emotional. My role is to support you and make sure that this difficult moment is honoured with sincerity, feeling, but also a touch of joy, as we celebrate the life they lived.

As a professionally trained and certified celebrant, with a compassionate, empathetic and warm approach, I’m here to ensure that your loved one’s ceremony is not only beautifully written and smoothly delivered, but also deeply meaningful and memorable.

I understand that the final farewell is one of the most heartfelt and challenging aspects of grief. Whether you choose a formal ceremony at a crematorium, a direct funeral followed by a celebration of life ceremony, a scattering of ashes ceremony or something entirely unique, I will work closely with you to design a meaningful farewell that will help you mourn your loved one’s death, celebrate their life and one that also brings comfort to those who are left behind.

My commitment to you

No matter which type of service or ceremony you choose, I am committed to creating a ceremony that truly honours your loved one, by reflecting who they were, the impact they had on those around them, and how they will be remembered.

What to expect

Getting To Know You & Planning The Service/Ceremony
Initially, we will have a brief chat over the phone, and we arrange a date and a time, that is convenient to you, for our first meeting.

I will then send you a short questionnaire, usually by email, for you to complete, that will help me gather the key details.
You can return this to me before our meeting, or you can just read it through and we can cover everything in person when we meet.

Our first meeting will take place in the comfort of your own home or at a place that is convenient to you, but it can also be over a zoom call if that is easier for you. Whoever wishes to, can be present at this meeting; close family, friends and anyone that would like to contribute to the ceremony.

At this relaxed, informal meeting, we will talk about your wishes, your loved one’s story and any personal elements, tributes and details you wish to include in the ceremony.

We will also cover any logistics like location and timings, so you know what to expect on the day.
After our meeting, I will create a bespoke ceremony script and eulogy that reflects the life and legacy of your loved one, using all the information gathered. I will also help you create an Order of Service should you wish to have one for your ceremony, and liaise with your chosen Funeral Director if you have one, to make sure everything goes as planned. Where applicable, I will also work closely with the Funeral arranger, Crematorium and Burial Ground. This enables us to ensure that your service goes smoothly.
Once the ceremony and eulogy have been written, I will send them to you for review. You can make as many changes as you wish and we will work together to make sure it truly reflects the personality and story of your loved one. We can review it as many times as you need, until it feels perfect. Once you are happy with it, I can do a live read through over zoom if you wish, so you can hear exactly how it sounds and make any last-minute adjustments if needed.
I will arrive early to ensure everything runs smoothly. Whether your chosen ceremony is traditional, formal, relaxed or contemporary, I will guide you through it with professionalism, empathy and respect allowing you to focus on what matters most.
After the ceremony, I will still be here to answer any questions or assist you with any post funeral queries with compassion, so please do not hesitate to get in touch.
